All bombing is terror
Most of you won’t like this.
The point of terrorism, from zealots who believe in violence, is to cause enough strife and discord that cause people to want to change their opinions of the terrorists themselves. That somehow the act of terror will cause the average person, the state defines them as citizens, to want to change things. The terrorist wants you to see that the act of terror was retaliation against some slight they believe they have the right to bring into the light. It is always the case of terror to get the populous to change their minds. One group acting not on ‘the people’ but at the government of those people. Even though, like in the Long Kiss Goodnight, no one has figured out how to fake killing their enemies to get them to change, so instead, they just kill women and children in hopes of killing the fathers and husbands.
I ask this, if you think the people of Iran should suddenly rise up against their system how well did that work on you when 19 guys supposedly attacked the US on September 11th? Did you suddenly think that those guys in caves halfway round the world might have a point about their perception of US imperialism? Did you ask why they hate us? Did you want to end the hate? Did all those dead, those big holes in the ground cause you to write you congressman and ask them why such a thing could happen? Would happen? Did you ask for the truth and evidence that could be used to negotiate some kind of peace?
Nope.
In fact the US invaded a country where their chief enemy wasn’t even hiding. That is how fucking pissed off the average ‘citizen’ was.
I think its disingenuous to believe so little in another people to think they will give up on their ideas because one side drops more bombs. It’s never worked for terror. Never.
